Improv Essentials

Our Improv Essentials (IE) course is a foundational training in the essentials of Improv. The program features five levels that build upon each other to give students the skills and confidence to do great Improv. Through expertly crafted lessons and lots of hands-on practice, students develop valuable skills for both performing on stage and navigating life.

workshops and electives

Mockingbird Improv offers occasional one-night workshops covering various improv skill building subjects. From time to time we also offer “elective” classes on various subjects on improv and beyond. These classes are usually weekly for a limited number of weeks.

Advanced Training Program

Graduates of our Improv Essentials core training series or other experienced community members can get customized lessons and feedback in our Advanced Training Program. Class meets once a week on an ongoing basis and is tailored to the needs of the class. Our expert instructors work with our students to identify areas to strengthen and craft the class to address those needs. Students receive a lot of individual feedback and are supported in working on their specific goals as improvisers.

Youth Program

We offer classes for young Improvisers ages 8 to 18. In these classes students will learn a variety of fun and silly games that teach the fundamentals of Improv. Not only is Improv a super fun way to express creativity, it also helps improve listening skills, team work, positivity, and so much more!
