Submit A Sketch

The writing team, “Writers Wing,” is the main source of sketches for the show. However, outside writers may also submit sketches! We’re seeking comedic sketches, five pages long or shorter, that can be performed live on stage. We welcome submissions from San Diego community members.

If your sketch is selected, you can work with Writers Wing to cast and direct your sketch or request that Writers Wing cast and direct it. Please review the “Submit Sketches Here” link below for more information.

APPLY TO JOIN WRITERS WING

Applications are being accepted now! Deadline to apply: August 1, 2025.

Every Writers Wing team member is expected to attend meetings, rehearsals, and performances. Writers Wing meets weekly on Monday evenings, with additional meetings for rehearsals during show week:

  • Two or three meetings per month are read-and-critique meetings, where we pitch concepts and beat sheets and read sketches aloud. Everyone works together to provide constructive feedback and joke punch-ups to create the best sketches possible.

  • One meeting per month is a table read with actors to prepare for that month's show.

  • Then, during show week, we hold a Monday blocking rehearsal and a Thursday tech/dress rehearsal.

  • Our shows are performed the third Saturday of the month at 10 p.m.

Writers Wing members are expected to submit a minimum of two new sketches every month, to rewrite sketches based on feedback from writers’ meetings, to provide constructive feedback on teammates’ material, and to be an active participant in the writers’ room. Writers are not guaranteed to have a sketch in every show. Writers are the producers of their sketches, and are responsible for coordinating all necessary props, costumes, and set pieces that their sketch requires.

To be considered for Writers Wing, applicants must complete the Writers Wing application form and submit 2 sketches and 5 pitches for new sketches that have not yet been written or produced. Please note that sketches should be no longer than 5 pages each, plus add a title page and character sheet. Your sketches should be in standard script format. Use the button below to apply by August 1!

Writers who cannot commit to attending meetings and regularly writing new sketches are still welcome to submit sketches to be considered for an upcoming show. See the "Submit a Sketch" information on this web page for details. Thank you!

sign up to be a Sketch Performer

The Sketch Performance Team is a roster of actors from which the Writing Team casts roles for the monthly live show. We welcome returning actors as well as new actors! All actors must sign up each month in order to verify availability for rehearsals.

To be considered as a performer for our upcoming show, please apply by clicking the button below and filling out the application form.
