There are now more ways than ever to get involved with sketch comedy at Mockingbird Improv. You can attend a show, submit a sketch, sign up to perform, or participate in our monthly Sketch Actor Jam!
ATTEND Sketch Night shows
Mockingbird hosts a live monthly sketch comedy show on the third Saturday of the month at 10:00 PM! Writers write sketches that actors rehearse and perform on stage. Our monthly show is approximately one hilarious hour long. Tickets are available online in advance, or at the door.

Submit A Sketch
The writing team, “Writers Wing,” is the main source of sketches for the show. However, outside writers may also submit sketches! We’re seeking comedic sketches, five pages long or shorter, that can be performed live on stage. We welcome submissions from San Diego community members.
If your sketch is selected, you can work with Writers Wing to cast and direct your sketch or request that Writers Wing cast and direct it. Please review the “Submit Sketches Here” link below for more information.
JOIN WRITERS WING
Writers Wing is a small but mighty team of San Diego comedy writers. We meet weekly to provide feedback on team members’ sketches, as well as three times during show week to rehearse, direct, and produce our monthly Sketch Night show.
If you’re interested in being considered for the Writers Wing team, keep an eye on this page. We’ll announce when applications are open for the team.
In the meantime, we encourage you to attend a show to see what it’s like. Feel free to chat up the Writers Wing team members after the show!

The Sketch Performance Team is a roster of actors from which the Writing Team casts roles for the monthly live show. We welcome returning actors as well as new actors! All actors must sign up each month in order to verify availability for rehearsals.

Come To The Sketch Actor Jam
Practice your stage acting skills at our monthly Sketch Actor Jam! Give sketch comedy acting a try by jumping into staged readings of original scripts from Mockingbird’s Writers Wing. No experience necessary and no memorization at all! Just be willing to get on stage and have fun!
The Sketch Actor Jam is FREE and open to all skill levels. It’s held on the 4th Thursday of every month at 8:30 p.m. at Mockingbird Improv Theater. No need to sign up. Just show up!
